The Des Plaines Public Library has a vibrant history of serving the city of Des Plaines and surrounding communities for more than 100 years.  The Library currently has more than 275,000 items in its collections, including:

In addition, the library offers computer and online services.  Library computers provide Internet access as well as a variety of software applications. Wireless Internet access is available throughout the building.  The library's Web site is available 24/7, including the Catalog (for looking up items), live chat reference help and online research databases which may be accessed from home with your library card.

The Des Plaines Public Library also offers unique and important services to the community through its homebound delivery, assistive technology, public meeting rooms, school and nursing home visits and so much more.  Hundreds of free programs and events take place at the library every year, providing education, enrichment, fun and a renewed sense of community to library users.  To learn more about the many ways in which the Des Plaines Public Library serves its community, browse the links below.
