Mailed Overdue Notices Discontinued

Starting March 1, 2017 Des Plaines Public Library discontinued printing and mailing overdue notices, except for the Final Billing Notice. 

Overdue notices are now sent exclusively via email and you must sign up to receive them. Sign Up for Email Notifications Now

Alternatively, to sign up for email notification, visit dppl.org, click on Patron Services, scroll down and click on Notifications.

If you do not wish to or are unable to receive email notifications there are several other ways to keep track of your DPPL items due dates:

  • Due dates are printed on your receipt when you checkout.
  • Log into your DPPL account online from any pc or mobile device. If you have not already done so, you will need to set up an account. Learn how here.
  • You many check the due dates on all your items using your library card at any DPPL self-checks. 
  • Call us at 847-376-2788
  • Due dates are included in emailed Automatic Renewal / Non-Renewal notices  and emailed Pre and Overdue notices you receive if you have signed up for email notifications.
