Temporary Security Monitor, Part-time
The Des Plaines Public Library is looking for an additional part-time Security Monitor, responsible, service-oriented individual to provide a safe, friendly, and functional environment for patrons and staff. This position requires the ability to exercise sound judgement in difficult situations. Main duties include opening and closing the building, making regular rounds, handling emergency situations, and documenting safety issues.
Summer Youth Services Assistant, Part-Time

Des Plaines Public Library is a five-star library serving a diverse, active, and growing community. We are seeking someone with experience working with children of all ages, knowledge of current children’s literature and trends, a friendly and generous approach to customer service, strong communication skills, and a desire to use their enthusiasm and imagination to bring something special to the team. Speaking Polish, Russian, Ukranian, or Spanish is a plus.
