The Library Never REALLY Closes

We are looking after our patrons in many ways during this temporary closure of the library from March 16 through March 31, 2020.

We have a lot of great online resources available to patrons with Des Plaines Library cards. If you do not have a library card, you can fill out our online application from home. We will process temporary cards while we are closed so that you can access our online resources. We will issue physical cards once we re-open.

We want you to get what you need now, so we will be increasing access to checkouts in Hoopla from 10 a month to 20.

We will also be keeping a close eye on holds and ordering additional copies of in-demand ebooks and eaudiobooks so that our patrons can get them faster.

And, if you have physical materials checked out, like books and DVDs, don’t worry!

Fines and due dates are extended to April 1, 2020 when we will reassess the situation.

If an item you requested is waiting for you, we are not cancelling holds at this time either.

If you have any questions about our online resources, or any other questions about the library, email us at help@dppl.org and we will be happy to assist you.
