PLEASE NOTE: BECAUSE OF THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC, EXAM PROCTORING HAS BEEN SUSPENDED UNTIL THE DES PLAINES PUBLIC LIBRARY RE-OPENS.
We're glad to serve as a proctoring site for your professional or student examination. Contact me if you have questions or want to set up an exam. Here's what you need to know:
What does test proctoring cost?
Nothing! Our test proctoring service is free! And, you don't have to live in Des Plaines nor have a Des Plaines Public Library card.
Scheduling your exam
Test proctoring is available:
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday between 9:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.
- Thursday between 1 p.m. and 8 p.m.
- Saturday (once a month) between 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. (whichever Saturday in a month I am working)
- No proctoring on Sunday
Use my contact information on this page. (I prefer email.) Please contact me at least one week (sooner, if you can) before you want to take your exam.
How test proctoring works
For paper exams
We can book a private study room (with a door) on the fourth floor for you. The library staff proctoring your exam (usually myself) do not stay in the room with you.
For online exams
You can use a library laptop computer in a private study room on the fourth floor. Again, the library staff proctoring your exam will not sit in the room with you. If permitted (or required), you can take your test on an Internet-access desktop computer for adults (over age 15) in the public area on the (fourth) floor.
Getting a copy of the exam to us
Your school/organization can email or snail mail your exam directly to me:
Des Plaines Public Library
1501 Ellinwood Street
Des Plaines, IL 60016
Submitting completed exams
We can scan and email or scan and fax your completed exam to the school or institution. If you need us to (snail) mail the test, you or the school/institution must provide an envelope and postage.
