The Des Plaines Public Library is an equal opportunity employer.
This internship has proven to be a great start for those interested in LIS, Early Childhood, or other related fields. As part of a two-person team, you will experience working with preschool-age children, performing storytimes, and playing a pivotal role in a library’s outreach team. The successful candidate will perform exciting storytimes for children ages 2-5 at their preschools, and encourage the children to visit the library. Away at school but returning to the Chicagoland area for the summer? Consider this a great summer work opportunity.
This internship begins Monday, June 4 and continues until Wednesday, July 25, 2018.
Are you a reliable self-starter with an eye for detail? Do you enjoy working independently but still want to be part of an efficient and generous team? The Des Plaines Public Library is seeking an outstanding candidate for our Full Time Acquisitions and Receiving Assistant opening! You will perform work related to the acquisition of library materials, including ordering, receiving, and transporting items, bibliographic data entry, editing MARC records, inspecting and troubleshooting circulating devices and technologies, compiling and maintaining department files, and more.
