Hey, Kiddos! It's time for a new edition of DIY with DPPL!

Starting on Saturday, April 16th, stop by the Youth Services desk on the second floor of DPPL to pick up a kit (while supplies last!).

This time, you'll learn how to make your very own ocean bottle!

Then use the materials to do the project we show you step-by-step in the video.

An Evening with Jenny Lawson

Join us for an evening with award-winning humorist Jenny Lawson as she discusses her most recent bestseller Broken (in the best possible way), and her brilliantly funny body of work. Jenny is an American journalist, author and blogger known for her great candor in sharing her struggle with mental illness. She lives in Texas with her husband and daughter. Her previous books Let’s Pretend This Never Happened and Furiously Happy were both New York Times bestsellers.

This event is made possible by Illinois Libraries Present, a statewide collaboration between public libraries offering high-quality events.

So You’re on LinkedIn…Now What?

We’ll discuss how LinkedIn is used by employers and recruiters, how to set up your profile so that YOU are visible to employers and recruiters and how to use all the LinkedIn tools to your benefit. Lauren uses LinkedIn every day in her own business, and looks forward to debunking its ‘mystery’. Participants are asked to obtain a basic profile before class. Presented by Lauren Milligan from ResuMAYDAY.com.
