Board Books: Your Baby’s Start to a Love of Reading

I vividly remember one morning during my maternity leave.

I had been up for hours already, we had already played with different toys and done tummy time, and we had just watched Dad leave for work.

I turned to my baby and said "What are we going to do for the rest of the day?"

My kiddo loves to pull down all the books.

It was 7 AM.

We read. We read a lot those first few months.

I read board books, picture books, poems from Where the Sidewalk Ends (I've always been fond of this one). One day I left for work while Grandpa was reading aloud from The Wall Street Journal (hey, we all have our go-to favorites).

DP Social: Events for 20 & 30 Somethings

In June 2017 the Pew Research Center released a study reporting that Millennials are the most likely generation of Americans to use public libraries.

Pew defines Millennials as anyone between the ages of 18-35 years-old as of the fall of 2016, the time at which the survey was administered. According to the study, 53 percent of the age group had used a public library or bookmobile within the previous year. The average across all adults 18 and older was 46 percent.

If you put aside for a moment that it is from a Marvel arch-villian, the title quote is as true as it is simple.

If you prefer your inspirational quotes to come from a good guy rather than a bad guy, we can all nod sagely with Albus Dumbledore as he states:
