DPPL On Demand

DIY With DPPL: Stamp Kit

Hey, Kiddos! It's time for a new edition of DIY with DPPL!

What's In Your Kit?

  • craft foam with sticky backing
  • 5x wooden cubes
  • small notebook
  • ink pad

Trace a simple design onto the white, paper backing of the craft foam. Cut out your shape and stick it onto one of the cubes to make a stamp.

PRO TIP: you can use every side of a cube to make designs!

ANOTHER PRO TIP: Trace the cube and draw within the outline so you know how large your design should be.

FUN IDEAS:

  • create an X stamp and an O stamp and play Tic-Tac-Toe with a friend
  • use your stamps to decorate your calendar
  • make a checkmark-shaped stamp to use on your To-Do-Lists
  • make emoji stamps to express your mood
  • create some stamps that spell out your name (just remember to flip the letters!)
  • see if you can illustrate an entire comic only using your stamps!

Starting on Saturday, April 19th, stop by the Youth Services desk on the second floor of DPPL to pick up a kit (while supplies last!), and then use the materials to do the project we show you step-by-step in the video.

(Grade 1 and up.)
