Barnes & Noble offers a large selection of classics in the handsome format pictured above. But for most other formerly popular books there is not such an easy fix. It is sad but true, that when an author stops writing new books, the books he/she has already written may be forgotten. They will sit on library shelves for a while without being checked out. Gather some dust. And then be discarded to make room for new books being published. The author might have a sizeable body of work. Some of the books might be absolute gems. But it doesn’t matter, the books will fade from our memory.

In July, we celebrated the 10 year anniversary of Oscar's "Gotcha Day", when we brought our adorable, 10 week-old puppy home.  Reminiscing, I fondly remember the months of sleepless nights, the razor sharp teeth, the non-stop chewing, and the teeny, tiniest bladder on the planet.

I'm getting ready to hit the road. Since the mid-70's our entire Aranda family has descended on the beautiful village of Ephraim, Wisconsin the last Saturday in July. 

40 years later we are still renting the same group of cottages across from the public beach and introducing a 4th generations of Aranda's (now Francis-McGinnis-Feldhausen-Hartnett-Imhoff-Muchmore-Andersen-Knapke-Bucholz-Constantini's) to our Door County rituals, traditions and joys.
