Kids Summer Reading Challenge:  Read . . . Two . . . One. . . Blast Off!

This summer, readers can make galaxy dough, battle ghosts, and learn about robotics, all while staying on planet Earth.

We even will have astronaunt training at our kick off party on Saturday, June 8th from 1-3 p.m. For a round up of ALL the exciting programs and happenings this summer explore the mission guide below:

DPPL Summer Mission Guide for Kids

We think this summer will be out of this world, and we cannot wait for everyone to join us in the fun!

Read . . . Two . . . One . . . Blast Off!

Starting on Saturday, June 1st, children birth-8th grade can report to our space station on the second floor to sign up for summer reading.

All children are given the mission of 16 hours or 32 books to complete by July 28th

Once you get your mission, you can use your log to keep track of your progress!

Kids will receive a glow-in-the-dark shirt for finishing the program.

Tshirts are generously donated by Friends of the Des Plaines Library.  Participants also get a book and coupons for getting halfway to their goal.

Speaking of coupons, thanks to all our sponsors who have donated coupons and giftcards for this year's summer reading challenge!

Here are some local businesses who donated to the summer reading Challenge this year:
