The Canvas

Fall 2024 Update

The Canvas - DPPL's new creative space - is now under construction and set to open in early 2025.

Here's a peek at what went on behind the plywood in October and November.

We have been busy!

In October Troop installed the last of the ductwork for the laser cutters, and put up the drywall, giving shape to the study rooms, equipment repair room, the media lab, and the activity space.

Drywall taping and sanding finished up the last week of the month, preparing the walls for the next step – paint.

Once painting was completed, Troop put down flooring in the space.

In November, the rooms were painted, and the LVT plank flooring was installed.

Cabinets, countertops, and shelving were delivered, and installed, along with the glass walls.

The Library has begun ordering the equipment for the space, like laser cutters, and 3-D printers, funded by a generous donation from Rivers Casino.

It’s all coming together!
