The Office (UK). Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant's original BBC series about Wernham Hogg, a paper company in Slough, has inspired spinoffs and adaptations in America, Germany, France, Canada, Sweden, India and Israel. But the original show (starring Gervais, Martin Freeman, Lucy Davis and Mackenzie Crook) is well worth revisiting for its wry, dry humour. DPPL circulates DVDs of seasons one and two.
The Office (US): Season One. The American adaptation of the office aired on NBC for nine seasons and launched Steve Carell, John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer and Mindy Kaling to stardom. Since then, it has also become the most watched show on Netflix, although next year it will move to NBC's new streaming service Peacock. But DPPL has the show's entire run available on DVD: seasons 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9.
The Office Overtime. During the American sitcom's run, members of its cast filmed several short webisodes - that is, bonus content intended to be aired exclusively online. One of those webseries, "The Accountants," won an Emmy for Outstanding Broadband Program. These bonus features aren't currently streaming, but we do circulate a DVD that compiles them.
The Office: The Untold Story Of The Greatest Sitcom Of The 2000s. This recently published oral history of the American TV show features interviews with the cast, writers and crew members to provide a behind-the-scenes view at the making of the show. DPPL carries the book as a hardcover, and it's also available through Overdrive as an ebook or an eaudiobook.
