My Reading Resolutions for 2016
The books I read are my “usual suspects”.
My Scandinavian mysteries, favorite authors, popular histories.
But, the other day I was reading yet another reference to the making of yet another media adaptation of another Philip K. Dick story.
Blade Runner is one of my all-time favorite movies.
And yet, I have not read Philip K. Dick’s Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? the basis for Blade Runner.
And just like that, I decided.
Resolution No. 1 :
I have to read some Philip K. Dick this year.
Another favorite movie of mine is Jean Cocteau's 1946 Belle et La Bête or Beauty and the Beast. Again, I have always wanted to read the original French fairy tale. Actually, I have always wanted to read some fairy tales.
Resolution No. 2:
Read a collection of classic fairy tales that includes Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont’s Beauty and the Beast.
And . . .
Resolution No. 3:
Not to make too many resolutions.
Happy reading in 2016!
