My name is Becky and I have been a Youth Services Assistant here at DPPL for almost 3 years.
By answering a few questions, you'll be helping me finish my master's degree and sharing your ideas about future possibilities for our library.
I've enjoyed creating programs such as Bilingual Story Time, Graphic Novel Club, and Move & Groove for the kids of Des Plaines.
I'm also a student at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro and working on my final Capstone project.
The focus of my work is to gain community input on the idea of having a space dedicated to preteens at DPPL.
This fall we introduced some new programming designed to appeal to preteens (ages 10-13) that goes hand-in-hand with our well-curated collection of middle school materials.
We've had great attendance so far.
Now, we are wondering if the community would benefit from the library having a space specifically for that age group.
