Here at the Des Plaines Public Library Reader Services department, we encourage your group to read whichever book they would like at any given time.

We understand each book group has a unique path that it charts from title to title.

We work hard to acquire multiple copies of a book that a group has chosen instead of making it choose from a predetermined, and limited, set of titles

However, there are times when simply browsing a shelf can be the answer.

Whenever we hold a book discussion at our library, we put a number of those book copies into our Book Group section.

This is an excellent place to look if you are searching for inspiration for your group’s next title.

While there might be a few titles that we cannot acquire for your group, like bestsellers immediately after their release or very rare books, we can procure almost anything else. All we need is around 6-10 business days to acquire your books. Any book group is welcome to pick up your copies from our library, and we don't restrict to just Des Plaines library cardholders.
